Understanding Hyperactivity in Children
We offer allergy and food allergy testing in Manchester, Cheshire, Trafford, Salford, Bolton and beyond. Research shows that Food allergy in particular can potentially have a significant influence on hyperactivity in children.
Hyperactivity in children, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), is where the child shows signs of being disruptive, excess energy, volatile sleeping patterns, lack of concentration and presents a difficulty in doing as they are told. It’s generally diagnosed as a ‘mental disorder’.
The condition has a profound effect on family life and schooling and parents become emotionally stressed, ‘at the end of their tether’.
However, food allergy and food additives can potentially have a major role in affecting a child’s behavioural patterns. Dr Benjamin Feingold produced key research that reinforces this point.
A selection of Food Allergies & Food Additives that were included in such research are:
- Salicylate containing foods
- Monosodium Glutamate (a flavour enhancer)
- Benzoic Acid
- Sodium Benzoate
- Sodium Metabisulphate
- Nitrates & Nitrites
- Cow’s Milk
- Food colourings
Complete Allergy Therapy aims to identify any allergenic causative factors that may influence ADHD. We look at overall health as well as reviewing hundreds of allergens. We will provide an assessment on nutritional deficiencies, diet and will suggest desensitising remedies or homeopathic solutions to help bring the body back to balance. A full report is given to clients.
